Advanced Powder Technologies/MaterialsThe research in the field of Advanced Powder Technologies/Materials (Department of Ferrous Powder Metallurgy, Department of Nano Structured Materials ) is focused on the development and application of new materials and powder metallurgy technologies, which include:
a) the application of innovative approaches (thermodynamic prediction of chemistry and transportation phenomena, modelling of micro-mechanical behaviour) for the control of the processes at the particle interfaces at nano- and micro-scales to improve the static and dynamic properties of the advanced Cr and Mn alloyed sintered steels;
b) the investigation of iron powder particles coated with metallic, polymer, ceramic or combined layers developed for the production of the materials with nano- and micro-graded composite microstructures;
c) the study of the physical and chemical processes of surface modification of cutting tools by nano- and multilayer coatings for industry.
