General
The Institute of Materials Research SAS Košice in cooperation with the Faculty of Metallurgy TU Košice and Department of Materials FNSPE CTU Prague, organise International Conference "Fraktografia - Fractography 2015" in the Congress Center Academia in Stará Lesná, High Tatras, Slovakia on October 18-21, 2015.Aims and Scope
Information and notes will be presented at the Conference in the area of theory and practical applications of fractographic and methodic approaches during the analysis of failure within a wide spectrum of materials.Topics
- the theory of material failure
- mathematical modeling and failure simulation
- stereological and statistical methods in the area of evaluating the process of failure
- the theory of durability and reliability of material
- microstructure of material and failure
- degrading processes and failure
- fatigue, creep and the dynamics of failure
- failure of sintered materials
- transient phenomena during failure
- the utilization of fractography in engineering practice
The Photography Competition
During the Conference a photography contest will take place."The best fractography photograph" and "The most curious fractography photograph" will be selected. All registered participants can enter the competition with their photographs. The photographs have to be delivered during the registration to the Organizing committee in high quality printed form (photographs, digital prints).

dinner Photo Competition Results |
The conference will take place in the Congress Center Academia in Stará Lesná, a village in the High Tatras. The Congress Center is situated about 2 km from Tatranská Lomnica and 15 km from Poprad. Accommodation will be arranged directly in the Congress Center or in nearby hotels. For lectures data-video projector and overhead projector will be provided.

Publication
Call for papers
- The conference includes oral and poster presentations.
- Presented contributions after the peer review will be published in journal Powder Metallurgy Progress (PMP).
- Book of abstracts will be also edited. For publishing the contributions, sending the final manuscript to the conference organizer’s address and payment of the conference fee will be required.
Manuscript preparation guidelines
The conference contributions will be published in the journal Powder Metallurgy Progress.
Book of Abstracts will be edited as the conference Proceedings (200-250 words).
Deadline for
abstract – 31st May 2015
Deadline for draft manuscript for review – 20th
July 2015
Deadline for final manuscript - 1 September 2015
The whole
manuscript (including figures and tables) should not exceed
- 10 pages for Invited Lecture
- 8 pages for Lecture
- 6 pages for Poster
The text
should be written in English.
To avoid production problems, please send Figures as
separate jpg or tif images, too.

DRAFT AND FINAL MANUSCRIPTS should be submitted in electronic format, as an MS Word (.doc) file (not pdf).
