Aims and Scope

The established orientation of DFPM international conferences is on fundamentals of mechanical behaviour and properties of powder metallurgy materials. The aim of the Conference is to promote information exchange between scientists, researchers and industrial engineers with the aim of improving the properties, lifetime and reliability of PM materials. Furthermore, a closer international cooperation in the field of deformation and fracture behaviour of these materials will be promoted.

Main Topics
  • Microstructure, physical properties, failure, fracture micromechanism
  • Application of PM materials under complex stress and exploitation conditions
  • Modelling
  • Advanced PM technologies and materials

Materials of Interest
All types of powder metallurgy materials, such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ceramics and composites, low and high porosity materials, nanomaterials, intermetallics, superalloys, metal foams, biomaterials and gradient materials.

Call for papers - Publication

  • The conference includes oral and poster presentations.

  • Presented contributions will be published in the journal Powder Metallurgy Progress (PMP) which is an open access journal that publishes original theoretical and experimental articles as well as review articles related to all aspects of PM. The journal is published by DeGruyter Open. Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, it will undergo language copyediting, typesetting and register one DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for electronically published articles. The  publishing fee for the contribution to PMP is included in the conference fee.

  • Abstract of presentations will be published in a Book of abstracts after peer-review with ISBN.

  • For publishing the contributions, sending the final manuscript to the conference organizer’s address and payment of the conference fee will be required.

Social Programme

A trip to “Nestville park”

Nestville Park is a gate to knowing one of the most picturesque corners of Slovakia.

Nestville park

One of decisive reasons, why the idea to build this tourist attraction originated, were a significant discovery in the extramural settlement of the castle of Ľubovniansky hrad (castle). The discovery was gradually supplemented with historical documents and artifacts showing, that the oldest preserved distillery in Slovakia, built in the middle of the 18th century, was located in Stará Ľubovňa. The distillery is also mentioned in the description of the Ľubovňa castle in the Hungarian geographic dictionary dated from 1851. The base of the old distillery has been lying under the castle until now and apparently it is the oldest preserved object of this kind in the territory of Slovakia.

The  aim of this exposition is to catch up on the intellectual property and traditions of people from the northern Spiš region and in this way to preserve it for future generations.

At the end of the exhibition visitors may see a spirits-tasting room, which is a brilliant work of art of local woodcarvers. There is the biggest carved picture in Europe, which took 3 years to be made and it forms the heart of the whole exhibition. Visiting the room is accompanied by a small surprise – a special reward - tasting of a unique drink produced by the company.
